Classic Bordeaux Blends and the Global Benchmark

Bordeaux AOC encompasses the entire Bordeaux region, allowing winemakers to craft the best possible grape blends. The red wine produced here is traditionally a blend of Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon, providing the beverage with a harmonious structure, soft tannins, and notes of dark cherries, currants, and cedar. The crisp white wine is made from Sauvignon Blanc and Sémillon, delighting with aromas of citrus and meadow flowers.

Versatility and Food Pairing

Due to their moderate body and elegant profile, these wines are exceptionally easy to pair with a variety of dishes. White Bordeaux wines are perfect with chicken, salads, and seafood. Red Bordeaux is an indispensable, traditional French wine for meat dishes, flawlessly complementing everything from simple beef burgers to roasted ribs or semi-hard cheeses.

How does Bordeaux AOC differ from Bordeaux Supérieur AOC?
Bordeaux Supérieur wines are subject to slightly stricter requirements: vineyard yields must be lower, the wine must have slightly higher minimum alcohol, and it must be aged in the cellar for a longer period (at least 9 months) before release. As a result, Supérieur wines are generally a bit richer and more complex.

Do Bordeaux AOC wines need long-term cellaring?
These wines are crafted to be enjoyed immediately. It is best to drink the reds within the first 2 to 5 years of the vintage, and the whites and rosés within 1 to 2 years to preserve their crisp fruitiness.

Should these wines be decanted before drinking?
Young and simple Bordeaux AOC wines do not require long decanting. However, opening a bottle of red wine and letting it "breathe" for about 30 minutes (or briefly transferring it to a decanter) will soften the tannins and make the fruit aromas more expressive.
