A High-Quality Compromise in Burgundy

This appellation covers specific villages in the northern (Fixin, Brochon) and southern (Premeaux, Comblanchien, Corgoloin) stretches of the Côte de Nuits. Ideal limestone and rocky soils prevail here. The resulting red wine features elegant tannins, bright cherry and currant notes, and a subtle forest floor character. It is a wine that masterfully bridges the gap between basic "Bourgogne Rouge" and the highly expensive specific village appellations (such as Gevrey-Chambertin).

Gastronomic Harmony with Silky Pinot Noir

Thanks to their elegance and crisp acidity, Côte de Nuits-Villages wines are wonderful companions at the dining table. Because they are not overly heavy, they perfectly complement roasted duck, chicken, mild veal stews, or charcuterie boards. It is also an excellent choice alongside classic French cheeses like Époisses or Brie.

Are white wines also produced in the Côte de Nuits-Villages appellation?
Yes, although they account for a very small fraction of the production (around 5%). The white wines of this appellation are made from Chardonnay grapes and feature crisp notes of citrus and white flowers.

What is the cellaring potential of these wines?
These wines are very approachable in their youth, but bottles from top producers can beautifully evolve in a cellar for 5 to 8 years, developing earthier, leathery, and mushroom aromas.

At what temperature is it best to serve?
Red Pinot Noir is best served slightly cooler than standard room temperature—at around 15–16 °C. We recommend using wide Burgundy-style glasses to allow the wine to breathe.
