Crémant de Loire is a sparkling wine crafted using the traditional (Champagne) method in the French Loire Valley. Distinguished by fresh fruit aromas, fine, lingering bubbles, and an exceptional price-to-quality ratio, this wine is a wonderful alternative to Champagne and the perfect choice for any celebration or everyday joy.
Read moreAlthough the production method is identical to that of the Champagne region (secondary fermentation takes place in the bottle), the uniqueness of Crémant de Loire comes from its local grape varieties. The primary grape is Chenin Blanc, which imparts aromas of honey, apples, pears, and flowers, along with a crisp, lasting acidity. Chardonnay, Cabernet Franc, or Pinot Noir are also frequently blended in to add structure and elegance. The wines are aged on the lees for at least 9 months, creating delicate notes of fresh brioche.
This is an incredibly versatile drink that can confidently be served from the beginning of a meal to its end:
Is Crémant de Loire the same as Champagne?
No. While both are made using the same labor-intensive traditional method, Champagne comes strictly from the Champagne region and typically uses a different blend of grapes. Crémant from the Loire Valley offers a slightly different—more fruit-forward and lighter—profile, often at a much more attractive price point.
How long can I store this wine at home?
This sparkling wine is released to the market fully matured and ready to drink. It is best to consume it within 1 to 3 years of purchase to enjoy its maximum vibrancy and the intensity of its bubbles.
