Etna Rosato DOC is a crisp, structured, and highly elegant rosé wine from the volcanic slopes of Mount Etna in Sicily. Crafted from the native Nerello Mascalese grape, this volcanic wine offers a stunning alternative to standard Provençal-style rosés, delivering far more depth, texture, and a distinctive smoky character.

Mount Etna provides everything grapes need to create a top-tier rosé—high altitude, a cooling climate, and unique volcanic ash soils. Etna Rosato DOC is made from the same noble red grapes (primarily Nerello Mascalese with a touch of Nerello Cappuccio) as Etna Rosso, but the maceration with the grape skins lasts only a few hours. This brief contact gives the wine a pale yet vibrant salmon or pomegranate hue while preserving impeccable freshness and crispness.
Etna Rosato is a highly characterful and multi-layered wine:
Thanks to a firmer structure than many other rosés, Etna Rosato DOC is exceptionally food-friendly. It pairs wonderfully with grilled salmon, tuna tartare, light poultry dishes, and roasted vegetables. It is also an ideal choice for Spanish tapas, sushi, or various cured meats and olives from our wine snacks section. Furthermore, it makes an elegant gift for the warmer seasons.
While the vast majority of rosé wines worldwide should be consumed within their first year, Etna Rosato is an exception. Because of the firm structure and solid acidity provided by the volcanic soil, this wine can easily be kept and even improve in the bottle for 2 to 3 years.
It is best to serve Etna Rosato chilled to 10–12 °C (50–54 °F). Avoid over-chilling it (like you might a simple summer rosé) to allow its smoky and floral aromas to fully express themselves.
