Production, Grapes, and Style of Franciacorta

This prestigious wine is produced strictly according to the rules of Metodo Classico. The primary permitted grapes are Chardonnay, Pinot Nero (Pinot Noir), and Pinot Bianco. The secondary fermentation takes place directly in the bottle, and the wine is aged on its lees for a minimum of 18 months (with Millesimato and Riserva categories aging for 30 or even 60 months). This extended aging imparts rich aromas of bread crust, toasted nuts, and brioche, which are harmoniously complemented by refreshing notes of citrus, peaches, and white flowers in the background.

Gastronomic Pairings for Your Table

Thanks to its firm structure and subtle acidity, this sparkling wine is particularly friendly to haute cuisine:

How does Franciacorta differ from Prosecco?
These are wines of an entirely different style and production method. Prosecco is made using the Charmat (tank) method from the Glera grape, making it lighter, sweeter, and more fruit-forward. Franciacorta is made using the traditional method and aged on the lees for a long time, resulting in a much more complex, drier wine with a creamy texture that is fundamentally similar to classic Champagne.

What do "Satèn" and "Pas Dosé" mean on the label?
Satèn (silk) is a unique style of Franciacorta made exclusively from white grapes (Blanc de Blancs). It is bottled with less pressure, resulting in exceptionally soft bubbles and an incredibly creamy texture. Pas Dosé (or Dosaggio Zero) indicates that no additional sugar dosage was added to the wine—making it a bone-dry, expressive wine that purely reflects its terroir.
