Méditerranée IGP covers a broad stretch of the Southern French coast, encompassing parts of Provence and the Rhône Valley. This appellation is globally renowned for its light, summery, and fruit-forward wines. While crisp and elegant rosé wine dominates here, the region also offers excellent, modern white and red wines perfect for everyday sipping.

Unlike the strict AOC regulations (such as Côtes de Provence), the IGP (Indication Géographique Protégée) classification provides winemakers with creative freedom. They can cultivate a broader spectrum of grape varieties and apply modern winemaking techniques. The Mediterranean climate—characterized by long, hot summers and mild winters—ensures perfect ripening. Wines from this zone are designed to reflect the relaxed French lifestyle (art de vivre) and focus on bright fruit and easy drinkability.
Méditerranée IGP wines are incredibly food-friendly and versatile. The rosés and whites serve as perfect aperitifs and pair flawlessly with Niçoise salads, grilled seafood, sushi, or poultry. The light red wines are excellent for casual gatherings, pairing wonderfully with pizza, burgers, or BBQ dishes. Don't forget to serve these wines alongside various wine snacks like olives or cured prosciutto.
The vast majority of these wines are designed for immediate consumption. You will best enjoy their crispness and vibrant fruit aromas by drinking them young, within the first 1 to 2 years of the vintage.
Rosé and white Méditerranée wines should be well chilled and served at 8–10 °C (46–50 °F). During the summer, it is also highly recommended to slightly chill the light red wines (to 14–16 °C / 57–61 °F) to enhance their fresh berry character.
