The Embodiment of Romance and Elegance

Located in the northernmost part of the Beaujolais region, the Saint-Amour appellation is inextricably linked to the Gamay grape. This red wine stands out for its extraordinary softness, virtually absent tannins, and an aromatic profile dominated by red fruits—peaches, raspberries, cherries—along with subtle notes of peonies. For this very reason, it has become incredibly popular for Valentine's Day celebrations.

What Food to Pair It With?

Because of its lightness and fruitiness, Saint-Amour is highly versatile when it comes to food pairings. Unlike heavy red wines, it pairs beautifully with white meats like poultry or roasted turkey, and perfectly complements charcuterie boards or mild cheeses. It is an extremely approachable wine, making it a very popular and sweet wine gift.

Dažniausiai užduodami klausimai

Does this wine require long-term aging?
No, Saint-Amour wines are generally designed to be enjoyed while they are still young. It is best to drink them within 2 to 4 years of the vintage to fully experience their maximum fruitiness.

Can this red wine be served chilled?
Yes! Because this wine is made from the Gamay grape and has very low tannins, it reveals its crispness best when served slightly chilled—at around 13–15 °C.

How does it differ from Beaujolais Nouveau?
"Nouveau" is a very young wine released just weeks after harvest. In contrast, Saint-Amour is a prestigious "Cru" produced from carefully selected vineyards, meaning it has more structure, depth of flavor, and is aged longer before release.
