Read moreThe "Trevenezie" appellation (formerly known as delle Venezie IGT) unites three historical zones: Veneto, Friuli-Venezia Giulia, and Trentino-Alto Adige. Thanks to a favorable climate—protected by the Alps and influenced by the Adriatic Sea—the grapes grown here achieve perfect balance. While this Italian wine is most often associated with crisp whites, the region also produces excellent reds and rosés.
Freedom and variety reign supreme here. The white wine crafted from local or international varieties (often Chardonnay or Sauvignon Blanc) delights with citrus and apple notes, while the reds, made from Merlot or Cabernet Sauvignon, feature soft tannins. These wines are incredibly food-friendly: light whites perfectly complement salads and seafood, while fruity reds are a great match for simple pasta dishes or pizza.
Why was the name of this appellation changed?
Until 2017, this area was known as delle Venezie IGT. However, to protect the quality of Pinot Grigio by elevating it to DOC status, the remaining IGT-level wines from this territory were given the new name Trevenezie IGP, reflecting the historical "Three Venices."
Can Trevenezie wines be cellared?
The vast majority of Trevenezie IGP wines are designed to be enjoyed immediately. It is best to drink them within the first 1 to 3 years when their fruit aromas are at their brightest and freshest.
What is the serving temperature for the red wines from this zone?
Because these red wines are typically light-to-medium-bodied, it is recommended to serve them slightly chilled—at a temperature of around 14–16 °C.
