Château Poesia is a Bordeaux wine producer classified as Saint-Émilion Grand Cru, located on one of the highest points of the limestone plateau in the Saint-Émilion appellation, in the eastern part of the region near the estates of Valandraud and Fleur-Cardinale.
Through its location and soil composition, Château Poesia perfectly reflects the classic Saint-Émilion terroir, where fertile clay-limestone soils give the wines depth, elegance, and a clearly defined fruit profile.
The modern history of Château Poesia began in 2014, when the estate was acquired by Hélène Garcin and Patrice Leveque. Previously known as Château Haut Villet, the property was not only renamed by the new owners but also underwent a comprehensive renewal of vineyards, cellars, and overall infrastructure, with the aim of establishing Château Poesia as a consistently respected Bordeaux wine estate. The proprietors are also well known for their work at other Bordeaux domains, including Château Barde-Haut and Clos l’Église.
The vineyards cover approximately 9–13 hectares, with plantings dominated by 70% ‘Merlot’ and 30% ‘Cabernet Franc’. The average age of the vines is around 40 years, with some parcels containing vines over 70 years old, adding complexity and structure to the wines. Sustainable viticultural practices are applied, fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled stainless-steel tanks, and the wines are subsequently aged in French oak barrels.
The style of Château Poesia wines balances intensity and elegance: they display a deep profile of red and black fruits, complex aromatic layers, and a clearly expressed sense of terroir. These are wines that age well in bottle and contribute to the distinguished experience of Bordeaux Grand Cru.
