Read moreThe climate of the Southern Region is much harsher than in the rest of the country. Short summers and cold, rainy winters prevail here. Due to the abundant rainfall, winemakers do not need to use artificial irrigation, making traditional dry farming widely practiced. The vines, growing in ancient soils of volcanic origin, red clay, and granite, drive their roots deep into the earth in search of nutrients. This provides the berries with incredible flavor concentration, while imparting a distinctly palpable earthy and mineral character to the wines.
