Armagnac Darroze Domaine Clotte de Manon 2010 0.2 L

32,00

Description

Originating from the prestigious Bas-Armagnac region, this Armagnac, distilled from the 2010 vintage (50% ABV, 70 cl), perfectly captures the soul of Domaine Clotte de Manon.

Produced in Ayzieu, within the Bas-Armagnac appellation, and crafted in the spirit of the Darroze family’s long-standing distillation tradition, it reflects both terroir and heritage. The “sables fauves” soils lend the distillate a distinct minerality, while maturation in oak barrels for at least 13 years preserves its character and adds remarkable depth.

The nose reveals figs, plums, and dark fruit notes, interwoven with hints of chocolate and delicate spices — classic Bas-Armagnac characteristics.

On the palate, it is rounded and rich, balancing warm maturity with velvety texture. Flavours of dried fruit, honey, vanilla, oak, and spice dominate, leading to a deep, lingering finish with nuances of tobacco and gentle smoke.

Domaine Clotte de Manon 2010 is a masterful expression that bridges the uniqueness of the estate and the timeless Bas-Armagnac tradition. Crafted both for immediate enjoyment and as a collectible treasure, it appeals to those who appreciate authentic, matured brandies from the southwest of France.

About brand

Darroze in the world of Armagnac stands for far more than quality — it represents a philosophy. It is a family story spanning more than a century and one of the most authentic expressions of the Gascony region.

The story began at the end of the 19th century, when the Darroze family started working with local winegrowers in Gascony. However, it was in the mid-20th century, thanks to Francis Darroze, that the house took on its present identity. He understood that the true value of Armagnac lies not in volume or blending for consistency, but in specific places, soils, vintages, and the human hand behind them.

Darroze Armagnac is never blended to achieve a uniform taste profile. Each bottle reflects a single estate, a single harvest, and a single story. It is a spirit that evolves, matures, and gains complexity with time. For this reason, Darroze is often compared to great wines rather than industrial spirits.

Most Darroze Armagnacs come from the Bas-Armagnac region, considered the most refined and elegant part of the appellation. The sandy and clay-rich soils give the distillates their signature softness, aromatic depth, and long aging potential. Distillation is carried out using the traditional continuous column still, followed by slow, natural maturation in French oak barrels.

Today, Darroze is regarded as one of the most important guardians of traditional Armagnac. Its creations are highly valued by collectors, sommeliers, and spirits enthusiasts around the world.

This is not a mass-produced spirit — it is a living piece of Gascony’s history in a glass.
