Red dry
An organic, natural-style red wine from the Languedoc region in Southern France, made from the rare ‘Counoise’ grape variety—most commonly found in Rhône Valley blends. At Domaine Ampelhus it is presented as a single-varietal wine, offering a subtle, light and expressively aromatic profile that reflects the energy and authenticity of its terroir.
In the glass, it opens with aromas of cherries, raspberries, redcurrants and blackberries, accompanied by hints of herbs, pepper, anise and delicate floral notes. The bouquet is fresh, playful and inviting, maintaining a balance between fruitiness and gentle spice.
On the palate, the wine is medium-bodied, silky, and harmonious, with soft tannins and refreshing acidity. Flavours of red berries, herbs and a touch of minerality dominate, leading into a clean, long-lasting finish with a subtle salty nuance.
The grapes grow in the Lunel-Viel area (Hérault department), on soils rich in quartzite, sand and limestone, providing the wine with lightness, structure and crystalline minerality. The estate follows organic and biodynamic farming principles, with fermentation carried out using native yeasts, without filtration or oak ageing, to preserve the authentic expression of the ‘Counoise’ variety.
Serve at 14–15 °C. Pairs well with roast lamb with herbs, ratatouille, or tomato and olive-based pasta dishes.

The estate's production is focused on naturalness and revealing the true characteristics of the region:
Due to their well-balanced acidity, the wines can be enjoyed young, but the red wines possess a well-defined structure that allows them to continue maturing gracefully in the bottle.
