The 2020 Beaune 1er Cru Montrevenots was cropped at a meager 16 hectoliters per hectare, but the results are brilliant. Bursting with aromas of dark berries, sweet soil tones, smoke and spices, it's medium to full-bodied, layered and concentrated, with ripe tannins, lively acids and a long, expansive finish.

About brand

Domaine François et Antoine Jobard – one of the most renowned and consistent estates in Meursault, with a history dating back to 1860. Today, the fifth generation, Antoine Jobard, continues the family tradition. He joined his father François in 2002 and, in 2007, took full responsibility for the domaine, becoming its sole director. The estate covers 4.8 hectares of vineyards, mostly in the commune of Meursault, including prestigious parcels such as Charmes, Porusots, and Genevrières. Antoine’s philosophy is clear: the essential work is done in the vineyard, while winemaking is simply the natural continuation of the terroir’s expression.

Wine Style

Jobard wines stand out for their depth, finesse, and mineral character. The style is based on traditional methods – fermentation and aging take place in standard 225-liter French oak barrels, with up to 20% new oak. Aging lasts longer than in many other Meursault domaines – 18 to 24 months, giving the wines remarkable concentration, structure, and complexity. They are not only enjoyable upon release but also develop beautifully with time.

  • White wines (mainly from ‘Chardonnay’) are noted for their pronounced minerality, rich texture, precise freshness, and long aging potential. They are among the most age-worthy wines of Meursault.
  • Red wines, though a smaller part of the domaine’s production, are aromatic, with supple tannins and a juicy, fruit-driven character.

Prestigious Vineyards

The estate boasts an impressive collection of vineyards in the Meursault appellation. Among the most highly regarded are Meursault Charmes, Meursault Porusots, and Meursault Genevrières, all renowned for their complexity and aging capacity. Combined with the Jobard family’s meticulous work, these sites produce wines that consistently earn the highest recognition among Burgundy enthusiasts.

Aging and Drinking Window

One of the greatest strengths of Jobard wines is their exceptional aging potential. Thanks to extended barrel maturation (18–24 months), the wines develop a powerful structure that allows them to age gracefully for decades. While their youthful minerality is captivating, their true beauty unfolds with time – a hallmark of classic Meursault.
