Errazuriz 'Las Pizarras' Chardonnay Aconcagua Costa DO 2022

Description

Malolaktinis virsmas vykdytas 40 % vyno. Vynas 12 mėn.brandintas 400 litrų prancūziško ąžuolo statinėse (20% naujos).

„Las Pizarras“ yra vienas novatoriškiausių pastarųjų metų projektų. Ilgametės žinios ir vynuogyno žemėlapių sudarymas atskleidė specifiką, leidžiančią gaminti išbaigčiausius ir sudėtingiausius 'Chardonnay', 'Pinot Noir' ir 'Syrah' vynuogių vynus.

Pavadinimas kilęs dėl didelio procento dirvožemyje esančių metamorfinių uolienų, ypač skalūno (ispaniškai „pizarras“).

Subtle toast, spices and a mineral verve mingle well with the squeezed grapefruit and pineapple notes. Bright and refreshing on the palate, with fresh-toned acidity and a long, rather mineral-oriented finish. Drink or hold.

The 2022 Las Pizarras Chardonnay is enticingly pure and vibrant on the nose, exuding a pleasing combination of bright, floral and crushed stone aromas with incredible clarity. The palate is a livewire of energy, with a radiant, beaming presence and outstanding, chiseled precision. It concludes on a long, layered and stoney finish accented with bright citrus notes and impressive length. This grew ever more nuanced and multidimensional in the glass, gaining substantial textural breadth but never losing sight of its crystalline purity and focused core. This was 100% barrel fermented, underwent partial malolactic fermentation and aged 12 months in 20% new French barrique.

About brand

Errazuriz is a Chilean wine estate whose name is closely associated with high-quality wines, a strong focus on terroir, and the preservation of long-standing traditions. It is located in the Aconcagua Valley, on the western side of Chile, where influences from both Central and South American climates meet. The local microclimate allows grapes to achieve full ripeness while maintaining natural acidity and structural balance.

The history of Errazuriz dates back to 1870, when the prominent landowner Don Maximiano Errazuriz acquired land in the Aconcagua Valley and began introducing modern winemaking practices to the region. From the very beginning, the estate sought to combine tradition with innovation—an approach that remains a core principle of Errazuriz today.

The Aconcagua Valley is characterised by marked climatic variation and the influence of cooling ocean winds, which help preserve aromatic clarity and natural acidity in the grapes. Errazuriz works with a broad range of varieties, but the estate is particularly known for ‘Cabernet Sauvignon’, ‘Syrah’, ‘Chardonnay’, and ‘Sauvignon Blanc’. In the Chilean context, these varieties clearly express the balance between fruit expression and structure shaped by local growing conditions.

Errazuriz’s international success has been strongly influenced by its lead winemaker, Eduardo Chadwick, who has played a key role in refining the estate’s understanding of Aconcagua’s micro-terroirs. His work helped position Errazuriz among the most respected New World wine producers on the global stage.

The Errazuriz style emphasises a clear sense of place, structured tannins, and aromatic precision. In the red wines—especially Cabernet Sauvignon—notes of blackcurrant, cherry, and gentle spice are often present, supported by lively acidity and a subtle mineral edge. The white wines are marked by freshness, clarity of aroma, and a well-judged balance between fruit concentration and acidity.

Errazuriz wines are consistently recognised internationally for their quality and their transparent expression of terroir. By combining traditional Chilean winemaking principles with modern techniques, the estate aims to ensure that each wine offers a clear reflection of its origin and vintage character.
