Klaus Lotz Erdener Treppchen Riesling Kabinett 2023 is a fruity, sweet white wine from the Mosel region of Germany, made from 100% Riesling grapes. They are grown in the famous, extremely steep Erdener Treppchen vineyard near the town of Erden. The iron-rich red slate here helps create richer, more expressive wines with a pronounced minerality.
The aroma is fresh and fruity - ripe peaches, apricots, yellow apples, citrus fruits and subtle nuances of white flowers are felt. They are complemented by hints of cool stone and slate.
The wine is light, juicy and elegantly sweet. The natural sweetness of the fruit is balanced by the lively Riesling acidity, so the wine remains fresh.
The residual sugar content in the wine is about 60g/l.
It goes well with spicier Asian cuisine, duck, liver pâté, blue cheeses or not very sweet fruit desserts. It is recommended to serve well chilled - around 8-10 °C.
