Red dry
One of the more structured wines from Domaine Lucien Boillot, reflecting the classic Côte de Nuits “Pinot Noir” character. This vineyard is known for producing wines with greater concentration, depth and a more pronounced structure.
On the nose, it reveals notes of darker cherries, blackberries and blackcurrants, complemented by violet flowers, black pepper, liquorice, forest floor and earthy nuances.
On the palate, the wine shows a deeper structure compared to the Volnay interpretations from the same domaine. The concentration of fruit is supported by firm yet polished tannins, vibrant acidity and a subtle mineral tension. The finish is long, with flavours of dark fruit, spices and delicate earthy tones.
The “Les Corbeaux” vineyard is located within the Gevrey-Chambertin Premier Cru area, close to some of the most renowned Grand Cru sites. Its clay and limestone soils provide the “Pinot Noir” with structure and ageing potential. Domaine Lucien Boillot follows a sustainable approach in the vineyards, with hand-harvested grapes and a traditional Burgundian winemaking philosophy.
The wine is aged in French oak barrels, with restrained use of new oak to preserve the purity of the fruit and the expression of the terroir. It will benefit from several years of bottle ageing, although the fruit-driven character of the 2023 vintage makes it approachable in its youth as well.
Serve at a temperature of 15–16 °C. Pairs well with roast lamb, wild mushroom risotto, or a mature Comté cheese.
