Description

Luigi Baudana Langhe Bianco Dragon 2025 is an exceptional white wine from Piedmont, created by the legendary G.D. Vajra family, who take care of the historic Luigi Baudana farm in the village of Serralunga d'Alba. Dragon is a unique blend of white grapes from the Langhe region, combining ‘Chardonnay’, ‘Sauvignon Blanc’, ‘Nascetta’ and a small part of ‘Riesling’. This wine reflects not only the local terroir, but also the Vajra family’s desire to preserve the rare traditions of the region and give a new face to Piedmontese white wine.

The aroma reveals notes of citrus peel, white flowers, green apple, peach and apricot, complemented by subtle nuances of mint, wet stone and minerality.

The wine is lively, juicy and precisely balanced. Bright acidity provides energy, while ripe fruit tones and contact with yeast provide texture and soft creaminess. The long aftertaste is a balance of citrus, stone fruit and minerals that gives the wine gastronomic versatility.

The grapes are grown on the slopes of Cerretta Piani in the Serralunga d'Alba area, where the cooler microclimate of the north-east exposure allows the white varieties to retain the freshness necessary. The soils are dominated by ancient Helvetian conglomerates, marl and sandstone, which give the wine an expressive minerality.

The wine is fermented in stainless steel tanks at low temperatures to preserve aromatic precision. Maturation takes place with the yeast lees in steel tanks until bottling in the spring after harvest.

Serving recommendations

Serve at 8-10 °C. This wine pairs well with oysters, white fish, seafood risotto, vegetable dishes, fresh goat's milk cheeses, or Asian cuisine with citrus and herbal accents.

About brand

The Vajra family has farmed Bricco delle Viole, the highest cru in Comune di Barolo, since the 1880s. At the young age of fifteen, Aldo Vajra embraced the dream to revive his family legacy. Displaying a vision and commitment belying his young age he took over the estate in 1968, turning a new page.Aldo soon acquired the first organic certification of the region (1971), created private biotype selections (selezioni massali) of Nebbiolo and Dolcetto, pioneered the renaissance of Freisa, a noble yet forgotten local grape (1980) and the cultivation of Rhine Riesling in Piemonte (1985).Today, the Vajra family continues the vineyard research focusing on the influence of soil and climate change. The winery is trail-blazing the rediscovery of Chiaretto di Nebbiolo and the wines of the 17th century – long before Barolo was created - through two limited-production wines: “N.S. della Neve” (a champagne-method rosé nature) and “Claré JC”, a partial whole-cluster fermentation of pure Nebbiolo.High elevation vineyards are a unique factor to the Vajra wines, for their ability to express finesse and remarkable complexity over power
