Description

"Meukow Nec Plus Ultra 1912 Cognac" is another exceptionally rare and prestigious collector's masterpiece. This cognac was created specifically to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Meukow cognac house (the company was founded in 1862, so 1912 marks this significant milestone). The Latin name "Nec Plus Ultra" translates to "nothing better" or "the ultimate point," which perfectly reflects the status of this spirit. Each bottle of this cognac is certified by the producer, and inside lies exceptionally old eaux-de-vie, distilled even before the First World War. It is a true liquid chronicle of history, characterized by a deep amber color and an incredible complexity of flavors.

The aroma stands out with its complexity, opening with notes of leather, tobacco, dried fruits, and dark chocolate. On the palate, this spirit is velvety and viscous, leaving an aftertaste of mild spices, candied oranges, and old oak.

It is recommended to serve neat, at room temperature from a classic tulip-shaped glass. An excellent choice alongside rich dark chocolate desserts or as a meditative evening companion.

Bottled on 2006.10.09. Bottle No. #11.

About brand

Meukow is a cognac house founded in 1862 by two brothers of Silesian origin, Auguste-Christophe and Gustav Meukow, who – according to the house's history – were sent to France on the orders of Tsar Alexander II to source the finest eaux-de-vie for the Russian court. Having fallen in love with the Cognac region, the brothers established their trading house there, and it soon became famous across Europe. Since 1979, Meukow has belonged to the Compagnie de Guyenne group, owned by the Coste family, and today the house is led by Philippe Coste.

Meukow is impossible to mistake for any other house – since 1993 its bottles have been adorned with an elegant panther, symbolising the strength, elegance and suppleness characteristic of its cognacs. Cellar master Anne Sarteaux – one of only a few women to hold this position in the cognac world – crafts harmonious blends from eaux-de-vie of the Grande Champagne, Petite Champagne, Borderies and Fins Bois crus. Meukow cognacs are known for their smooth, rounded taste with notes of vanilla, dried fruit and spice. Today they are sold in more than 80 countries worldwide.
