Red dry
The 2022 release is about 70% 2019 vintage and 30% 2018 vintage. The wine is a full-bodied multi-vintage Bordeaux blend from the iconic Opus One estate in the Napa Valley. Following in the tradition of many illustrious Bordeaux estates, Overture is the second wine of the estate. Made in exactly the same way as Opus One using the same estate vineyards, the only difference being that Overture it is a multi-vintage blend. The 2022 release comes with a high proportion of Cabernet Sauvignon in the blend. The wine was matured in 60% new oak and bottled in August 2021.
Serve at 16-18 °C with intensive beef, mutton steaks.
Opus One Winery – a legendary Napa Valley wine icon
Opus One Winery is one of the most famous and prestigious wineries in California, located in the Oakville AVA, Napa Valley. Founded in 1978 as a partnership between two wine legends – Robert Mondavi (USA) and Baron Philippe de Rothschild (Château Mouton Rothschild, France), Opus One has pursued one goal from the beginning: to create world-class premium Bordeaux-style red wine.
The Oakville AVA is famous for its ideal climate for growing Cabernet Sauvignon grapes. The winery manages about 55 hectares of vineyards, carefully maintained according to the principles of sustainable farming.
Grapes and winemaking
Opus One creates one main wine – Opus One Red Wine – and a secondary wine Overture. Both wines are made using five grape varieties from the classic Bordeaux blend:
• Cabernet Sauvignon
• Cabernet Franc
• Merlot
• Petit Verdot
• Malbec
Production process:
• Manual harvesting and optical sorting of grapes
• Fermentation with gravity systems (no pumps)
• Aging in 100% new French oak barrels for ~19–20 months
• Long bottle aging before release
This meticulous process allows the wine to stand out for its depth, structure, longevity and elegance.

The Opus One building is an architectural masterpiece that combines modernism and classicism, designed to allow winemaking to proceed naturally from the top to the cellar by gravity.
