“Cherry Brandy” Liqueur
“Cherry Brandy” is a historic category of cherry liqueur. Once blended exclusively with brandy, today it is made using spirits distilled from various plant-based sources.
At Pakruojis Manor Distillery, we combine fresh cherry juice with grain spirit. The liqueur’s sweetness comes from unrefined Demerara cane sugar. Our secret recipe also includes two in-house aged infusions. A few drops of chili enhance the subtle notes of cherry stones and marzipan. The heat from the pepper is slightly deceptive – it tingles and warms the palate in a way that’s unexpected for a relatively light (29% ABV) drink. Fragrant star anise highlights the freshness of the cherries and adds complexity to the liqueur’s sweetness.
A two-time bronze medal winner at both the American Craft Distilling Institute Awards (USA) and the Craft Spirits Berlin Awards (Germany).
Ingredients: drinking water, grain rectified ethyl alcohol, concentrated cherry juice (24%), unrefined cane sugar, natural flavorings, red pepper, dried star anise fruits.
Storage conditions: store at 10°C to 25°C. Natural sediment may form over time.
In Pakruojis Manor, beverages have been crafted since the 18th century, when the estate housed a hospital, a pharmacy, and a distillery founded by the manor’s apothecary. The infusions and tinctures created at that time were used within the estate and soon spread widely across the region. Today, in this historic place, Lithuania’s first craft distillery has been revived, where ancient, wood-fired copper stills have been brought back to life, writing a new chapter in the country’s spirits-making history.
