"Laurent Bannwarth" are pioneers of natural winemaking from the Alsace region of France. This family-owned estate is renowned for its strict biodynamic principles and experiments with traditional grape varieties. Discover authentic, vibrant white wine and orange wine that reflect the purest expression of nature and terroir.
Read moreSince the early 2000s, this estate has abandoned all chemical treatments in the vineyards, transitioning to biodynamic farming ("Demeter" certified). In the cellar, fermentation occurs only with wild yeast, the wine is unfiltered, and almost no sulfites are added. This approach allows for the creation of exceptionally expressive, textured beverages that constantly evolve in the glass.
One of "Laurent Bannwarth's" most interesting experiments was bringing Georgian Qvevri (clay amphorae) to Alsace. Fermenting Gewurztraminer, Pinot Gris, and Riesling grapes in them creates unique orange wines characterized by aromas of exotic fruits, spices, black tea, and subtle tannins.
Due to their pronounced texture and aromatic complexity, these wines are incredibly gastronomic. The white wines pair perfectly with seafood and Asian cuisine. The orange (Qvevri) wines can easily handle spicy food, aged meats, and intense cheeses. For flavor experiments, we recommend selecting additions from our wine snacks selection.
Why is natural wine often cloudy?
Because this producer does not filter or fine the wine, natural sediment may remain. This is a sign of quality and authenticity, providing the beverage with more flavor and texture.
Is orange wine suitable for beginners?
It is a fascinating experience, but the taste differs significantly from classic white wine. It is closer in structure to red wine (containing tannins), making it perfect for those wanting to discover new, bold flavors.
