White semi dry
Rudi Rüttger Gewürztraminer Spätlese 2022 is an aromatic late-harvest white wine from the Palatinate, created by the family-run Weingut Rudi Rüttger winery in Neuleiningen, North Palatinate. The ‘Gewürztraminer’ register in the calcareous sandstone soil environment, which gives the wines not only a lush aroma, but also a clearer structure. The ‘Spätlese’ itself seems to be made from later-harvested, more ripe berries, so its character styles are naturally more expressive and rich.
The aroma reveals the classic ‘Gewürztraminer’ pattern: rose blossoms, exotic fruits, subtle spice. The nose is intense, open, with a pronounced floral note, and the softness of ripe fruit is also felt, which allows us to expect a broader, rounder taste.
The wine is soft, sweet, full-bodied, with spicy and fruity notes and an elegant aftertaste of tropical fruits.
Residual sugar content of the wine: 50g/l.
Acidity: 5.5 g/l.
Serve at a temperature of 10 – 12°C with intensely aromatic cheeses (e.g. Camembert Bocage), spicy Asian dishes, and fruit desserts.
The family has been dedicated to winemaking since 1643. Rudolph Rüttger is the main responsible for the wines. Before joining the family business, he gained experience at home and abroad. After completing his studies at the HBLA Klosterneuburg, he developed some fresh ideas, influenced by jobs at wineries in Austria, New Zealand, and Germany. He now takes care of the works in cellar and vineyards with the help of his father Heinrich Rüttger, also his mother Theresa is often helping out. This is a family business: his siblings Heinrich and Katharina especially love to help out when there are winefest-times.
