Planeta Etna Bianco Contrada Taccione BIO 2024 is an elegant and terroir-rich white wine from the slopes of Etna, born in one of the most volcanic and today most prestigious wine regions of Italy. The wine is made from 100% ‘Carricante’ grapes grown in the Contrada Taccione plot, at an altitude of approximately 690-720 meters above sea level, on black volcanic sand and basalt soils.
This is a modern interpretation of Etna white wine, combining volcanic minerality, mountain freshness and the ripeness of the Mediterranean sun. The 2024 harvest was characterized by extremely favorable conditions - a mild winter, balanced rainfall and large differences in day and night temperatures allowed to preserve aromatic precision and refreshing acidity.
The aroma reveals notes of white acacia blossoms, fresh almonds, peaches, yellow plums and hazelnut cream. Alongside the fruitiness, subtle nuances of volcanic stone, smoke and sea saltiness are felt, giving the wine depth and distinctive character.
The wine is precise, lively and layered. The ‘Carricante’ variety provides high acidity and a tight structure, while the partial maturation in tonneaux barrels adds a subtle texture and creaminess. The taste reveals notes of citrus, yellow fruits, prickly pears and mineral volcanic freshness. The aftertaste is long, salty and very harmonious.
The grapes are grown organically according to SOStain® principles, in order to maintain the natural life of the soil and the authentic expression of the terroir. Fermentation takes place mainly in stainless steel tanks, part of the must is matured in oak tonneaux barrels, and the wine is aged for several months on fine lees.
Serve at 8-10°C with shrimp, oysters, raw fish, clams, scallops, and softer cheeses.
