White dry
Wimmer Czerny Scheiben Alte Reben Weissburgunder Wagram 2019 is a fresh, mineral, yet rich and balanced Weissburgunder (Pinot Blanc) wine, in which the character of old vines harmoniously intertwines with the subtlety of biodynamic farming. The wine perfectly reflects the identity of the Wagram terroir.
The grapes for the wine are harvested from old vines (about 70 m.), whose roots reach up to 20 m deep, which allows for intense styles even in dry conditions. The soil is typical of Wagram - calcareous loess, which gives the wine structure, minerality and balance. The producer Weingut Wimmer-Czerny works biodynamically (Demeter certified), with minimal interventions in winemaking - which allows the natural fruitiness and terroir to shine through.
The aroma is rich and multi-layered - the spectrum of ripe fruit notes dominates: the sweetness of tropical fruits and honey, subtle notes of acacia flowers, roses and mild spice, the depth of earth, fresh grass.
The wine is smooth, with a well-balanced structure and a bright acid line that provides freshness and longevity. The taste is full, but not heavy - the aftertaste is slightly creamy with a soft minerality, which goes well with the fruitiness and spicy hints.
Serve at 8-10 °C with green salad, white fish dishes, dishes with rice and various vegetables.
