Planeta Brut Carricante Metodo Classico VSQ BIO 2023 - an elegant Sicilian sparkling wine, created from 100% ‘Carricante’ grapes grown on the volcanic slopes of Etna. Planeta produces this wine using the classic method (Metodo Classico), aiming to reveal not only the freshness of ‘Carricante’, but also the minerality of the black lava soils and the character of the Etna mountains.
The aroma reveals notes of white flowers, lemon peel, green apple and passion fruit, complemented by delicate tones of brioche, toast, almonds and smoky minerality. The wine is extremely refreshing - fine and long-lasting bubbles provide creaminess, while bright acidity and volcanic minerality create a long, elegant aftertaste.
The grapes are grown in the Sciaranuova vineyard, located at an altitude of about 850 m above sea level, in the Castiglione di Sicilia area. The black lava sand soils, the large temperature differences between day and night and the mountain climate allow for the preservation of exceptional acidity and mineral structure. The wine is produced according to the principles of organic farming.
After the second fermentation in the bottle, the wine is aged on the lees for about 20 months.
It is recommended to serve at a temperature of 8–10 °C. It goes well with oysters, raw seafood, fried white fish, tempura-type dishes or mature soft cheeses.
