White dry
Varner Wine Foxglove Chardonnay Central Coast 2025 is a dry white wine from California that combines the richness of ripe fruit with a refreshing quality.
The aroma features notes of citrus and tropical fruits. The wine is fruity, fresh, and well-balanced. It is produced using only stainless steel tanks, which allows it to retain a lively acidity.
Foxglove is a line of wines created by brothers Bob and Jim Varner, focused on a clear expression of the grape variety.
Serve at 10–12 °C with grilled fish, seafood, chicken, or vegetable risotto.
Varner Wine – twin brothers Bob and Jim Varner represent one of California's most compelling winemaking stories. In the 1980s they planted the Spring Ridge Vineyard in Portola Valley, in the Santa Cruz Mountains appellation, and for decades did all the work themselves, both in the vineyard and in the cellar – a rare case of winemakers who are also the farmers of their own vines. Their single-block Chardonnays (Amphitheater, Home, Bee) earned the highest critical acclaim and were compared to the finest white Burgundies.
The Varner style is pure, transparent and terroir-driven: minimal intervention, restrained use of oak and a focus on the character of the site. In 1991 the brothers introduced their second label, Foxglove – wines of outstanding value from the Central Coast (Paso Robles, San Luis Obispo). Foxglove Chardonnay is fermented in steel tanks without malolactic fermentation, making it notably fresh, pure-fruited and mineral. This is honest, masterful California winemaking without any gloss – just quality in the glass.
