Yjar Rioja DOCa 2020 is a premium Spanish red wine from the prestigious Rioja DOCa region. This is the first project from the famous Telmo Rodríguez personal vineyard, which aims to revive the historic Remelluri farm and present the world with a terroir-inspired, authentic wine. Yjar 2020 is an elegant and structurally complex wine. The aroma is dominated by dark berries, cherries, herbs, soft spices and mineral tones. The taste is rich, yet elegant, with balanced acidity and silky tannins. The wine is aged for 14 months in French oak barrels.
Serve at 16 - 18 °C. Goes well with red meat, mature cheese, mushroom dishes or even delicate stews.
The minerality offers a thin gauze that veils the notes of chalk, seashells, violets, white pepper, flowers and red and blue berries. Touches of graphite, spices and grapefruit zest as well. The tannins are dusty and abundant, melding into the extremely long, mineral finish. Transparent, pure and stony! Pristine and understated, yet complex and persistent. This is a chalky wine. 12,652 bottles. Drink from 2025, but you can keep this for 20 plus years.
