Red dry
A 3ème Grand Cru Classé of Margaux, renowned for its subtle, aristocratic expression of the appellation. The 2022 vintage shows remarkable purity, precision and harmony – a Margaux where elegance comes before power, and structure is seamlessly integrated.
The aromatic profile is refined and multi-layered. Blackcurrants, cherries and raspberries appear first, gradually interwoven with violet flowers, cedar, graphite and a very delicate smoky nuance. With time in the glass, gentle spice notes, tobacco leaf and a soft earthy undertone emerge, hallmarks of classic Margaux finesse.
On the palate, the wine is medium-bodied with an exceptionally graceful texture. Tannins are silky, fine-grained and perfectly integrated, while the acidity is lively and precise, sustaining fruit clarity and structural balance. Flavours of ripe dark and red berries are supported by graphite, cedar and a subtle spice accent. The finish is long, dry and elegant, with a refined mineral echo.
The vineyards of Château d’Issan lie on the gravel terraces of Margaux over a limestone base, allowing Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot to achieve aromatic purity, silky structure and excellent ageing potential. This terroir is fundamental to the wine’s classic Margaux elegance and refined character.
The grapes are hand-harvested and meticulously sorted. Fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled vats, followed by approximately 18 months ageing in French oak barrels, subtly enhancing structure while allowing the terroir’s voice to remain clear and expressive.
Serve at 16–18 °C – pairs perfectly with lamb roast with rosemary, duck breast with forest berry sauce, and matured beef (entrecôte) with a subtle pepper sauce.
The purity of the fruit is really wonderful here, with blackcurrants, orange peel and raspberries. Aromatic. Full body, chewy tannins and a juicy finish. But it remains linear and vivid. The quality of the tannins and the powdery texture are really alluring. Silky. And so precise. 70% cabernet sauvignon, 25% merlot, 2.5% cabernet franc and 2.5% petit verdot. 13.83% alcohol. 3.66 pH.
Chateau D'Issan vienas seniausių Bordo ūkių, kurio istorija siekia XV amžių. Po Antrojo pasaulinio karo 1945 m. stipriai apleistą ūkį įsigijo Cruse šeima, kuri jį valdo iki dabar. 1998 metai, kuomet ūkį į savo rankas perėmė Emmanuel Cruse, žymi Chateau D'Issan renesanso pradžią. Nuo tada Chateau D'Issan kokybė nuolatos augo ir šiuo metu čia gaminamas vienas žinomiausių Margaux apeliacijos vynų. Ûkiui priklauso 41 ha vynuogynų, kuriose auga Cabernet Sauvignon ir Merlot vynmedžiai.
