Armagnac Darroze Domaine de Pouteou 2000 0.2 L

46,00

Description

Hailing from the prestigious Bas-Armagnac region, the 2000 vintage from the Domaine de Pouteou estate is a magnificent expression of finesse, crafted from a delicate blend of four classic grape varieties (Baco, Ugni Blanc, Colombard, and Folle Blanche). After decades of maturation in oak barrels, this Armagnac has developed an exceptionally balanced, bright, and fruit-forward character.

The very fresh nose reveals crystallized fruit flavors of apricot and orange peels, gracefully accompanied by delicate notes of linden infusion and vanilla. On the palate, it is highly refined with light tannins and prominent fruity flavors, culminating in an elegant, harmonious, and lingering finish.

Best enjoyed neat at room temperature (18–20 °C) in a traditional tulip-shaped glass to fully capture its delicate aromas. It pairs wonderfully with light fruit-based desserts, creamy pastries, or serves as a luxurious standalone drink for a contemplative evening.

About brand

Darroze in the world of Armagnac stands for far more than quality — it represents a philosophy. It is a family story spanning more than a century and one of the most authentic expressions of the Gascony region.

The story began at the end of the 19th century, when the Darroze family started working with local winegrowers in Gascony. However, it was in the mid-20th century, thanks to Francis Darroze, that the house took on its present identity. He understood that the true value of Armagnac lies not in volume or blending for consistency, but in specific places, soils, vintages, and the human hand behind them.

Darroze Armagnac is never blended to achieve a uniform taste profile. Each bottle reflects a single estate, a single harvest, and a single story. It is a spirit that evolves, matures, and gains complexity with time. For this reason, Darroze is often compared to great wines rather than industrial spirits.

Most Darroze Armagnacs come from the Bas-Armagnac region, considered the most refined and elegant part of the appellation. The sandy and clay-rich soils give the distillates their signature softness, aromatic depth, and long aging potential. Distillation is carried out using the traditional continuous column still, followed by slow, natural maturation in French oak barrels.

Today, Darroze is regarded as one of the most important guardians of traditional Armagnac. Its creations are highly valued by collectors, sommeliers, and spirits enthusiasts around the world.

This is not a mass-produced spirit — it is a living piece of Gascony’s history in a glass.
