White dry
Waimaunga Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc, a wine that walks a fine line between purity and boldness, is made from the single Waimaunga vineyard, growing on layered clay soils. Generous yet refined, this wine draws you into swirling aromas of gooseberry, citrus fruits, and tomato leaf. The wine is mineral-driven.
85% of the wine was fermented in stainless steel tanks, with 15% in old French and 600L Austrian oak vessels. The wine was aged for 8 months on lees. To ensure the wine's balance before bottling, it was matured for a further 6 months in small and large oak vessels.
Serve at 10–12 °C as an aperitif, with white fish dishes, asparagus, artichokes, Brie cheese or oysters.
"Complex, dry, layered, new, taut. A wine of texture and mouthfeel with citrus and mineral, floral and a gentle fruit spice quality. A fabulous example, very young and needs time. Excellent food wine, lees work excellent."
