Red dry
The wine offers aromas of fresh raspberries, cherries, and leather. On the palate it reveals a complex flavour that echoes the nose, with additional notes of redcurrant. The finish is elegant and long-lasting.
The grapes are hand-picked and hand-sorted. Fermentation with native yeasts begins in stainless steel tanks, after which the wine is aged for 12–18 months in large oak casks. It is then bottle-aged for a further 3–6 months.
Serve at 13–15 °C with vegetable stew, river pike or grilled beef ribs.
Domaine Rolet was founded in 1942 by Désiré Rolet before being passed on to his children. Today, the Domaine's vines average 45 years old and span 65ha across the Jura region of Eastern France, with vineyards in the AOCs of Arbois, Cotes du Jura, l'Etoile, and Chateau-Chalon.Classic Jura varieties are planted across steep slopes on appropriate soils; Chardonnay (light marls), Savagnin (grey marls), Poulsard (red & blue marls), Trousseau (heavy gravels) and Pinot Noir (light marls). Vines are tended through organic farming practices, and hand-harvested each year producing yields between 15-50 hl. Further sorting ensures that only the best quality grapes are seen through to barrel. Most wines are aged for around 18 months in oak, replacing a quarter of their barrels each year.The resulting wines have gained the Domaine a reputation for excellence with wine professionals and drinkers alike with their purity and concentration.
