White sweet
Liliac & Kracher Ice Wine Transylvania 2023 - a collective project: a collaboration between the Liliac winery and the Kracher family, aiming to take advantage of the cooler climate in Romania due to the worsening climatic conditions for the production of this type of wine in Austria.
Bright tones of white stone fruits (peaches, apricots) and tropical fruits (lychees, pineapples), a hint of honey, soft floral notes. In the mouth - very sweet, but fresh and clean, the acid nicely balances the sugar; long, fruity, gingerbread aftertaste.
The wine is made from grapes frozen on the vine. Natural freezing - when the temperature drops to about -8 ° C or below, then the berries are picked and the juice is pressed, which is highly concentrated; fermented and aged for ~ 4 months in stainless steel tanks.
Residual sugar content: 189g / l.
Acid content: 7.57g/l.
Serve at 8–10 °C. Goes well with blue cheeses, fruit desserts (e.g. white chocolate panna cotta with peaches, orange tarts), goose/duck liver pâté.
The Kracher winery in Austria is located next to Lake Neusiedl. It is one of the few places in the world where practically every year it is possible to grow and harvest a proper harvest affected by noble rot and to produce sweet wines. It is the sweet Kracher wines that have gained worldwide recognition and various titles, the producer himself has been recognized as the winemaker of the year five times, and one of the most famous wine critic Robert Parker rates Kracher wines the highest (the only Austrian wine is rated 100 points!). Kracher wine is characterized by harmony, as the sweetness is offset and balanced by refreshing acids, and the most complex wines are exceptionally long-lasting and become an object of collection.
