Sparkling dry
This sparkling wine, made using the classical method, is crafted exclusively from Alvarinho grapes grown in the Vinho Verde region.
A pale lemon-coloured dry sparkling wine with aromas of green apple, ripe lemon, and fresh citrus. On the palate, the wine is light, revealing notes of orange peel and peach; it offers refreshing acidity and exceptionally fine bubbles. Surprisingly long on the finish.
Recommended serving temperature: 6–8 °C. Pairs well with fish, fruit, seafood and light salads.
Reguengo de Melgaço is a historic property located in the village of Paderne. Commissioned by Queen Leonor in the 16th century it was bought in the 1900s by its current owners, who planted nine hectares of vineyards across two different vineyard sites. They released their first vintage in 2001 quickly establishing themselves as a benchmark Alvarinho producer. This aromatic variety has been well known locally for centuries but it is only recently that Alvarinho is becoming more appreciated by consumers outside the domestic market. Alvarinho expresses its full potential in the Moncao sub-region of Vinho Verde, showing aromatic complexity and a wonderful combination of fresh fruit and floral notes.
