Sparkling dry
Andreola Mas de Fer Rive di Soligo Extra Dry Prosecco di Valdobbiadene Superiore DOCG – an elegant and highly terroir-revealing Rive category Prosecco from the Soligo slopes in the Conegliano Valdobbiadene DOCG region. It is one of Andreola’s most refined wines, born from extremely steep limestone conglomerate soils located at an altitude of 300-500 meters above sea level.
The name “Mas de Fer” is associated with the peaks of the Col de Fer and San Gallo hills – a small area of just a few hectares in the Rive di Soligo area. These southeast-facing slopes are characterized by extremely thin soils, so the vine roots are in almost direct contact with the limestone rock. Due to this terroir, the wine acquires not intense fruitiness, but elegance, vertical structure and very clean minerality.
The wine is made from 100% ‘Glera’ grapes, harvested by hand. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks, and the secondary fermentation is carried out using the Martinotti-Charmat method, in order to maintain a precise aromatic profile and subtle perlage.
The aroma reveals notes of white flowers, citrus, green apples, pears and white peaches. Alongside the fruitiness, subtle mineral and slightly chalky nuances are felt, which give the wine more complexity and serenity than many classic Prosecco.
The wine is extremely precise, with creamy bubbles and a very harmonious structure. The “Extra Dry” dosage is used here not to highlight the sweetness, but to create balance - about 14 g/l of residual sugar subtly softens the harshness and minerality of the calcareous terroir. The taste reveals notes of white fruits, citrus peel and light saltiness. The aftertaste is long, refreshing and elegantly mineral.
Serve at 6-8 °C with cheese, cold cuts, fish, white meat and Oriental specialities.
Herby, floral nose; light, progressive palate with a lovely delicate airy texture and intense flavours on the finish of grapefruit peel, apple and almonds. Very refined, from high-altitude vineyards.
Andreola winery, located just outside Valdobbiadene on the Col San Martino, produces Prosecco with a very distinctive flavor. Here the landscape is completely different with high hills with steep slopes and terraced vineyards. Stefano Pola, who runs the winery, draws on the long tradition of winemaking in the region, but does not shy away from modern solutions to improve quality. The family farm has 70 hectares of vineyards, dominated by Glera grapes, but not forgetting the old local varieties such as Verdiso, Bianchetta and Perera. In recent years, Andreola has received much praise from wine critics. Their first wine, Vigneto Dirupo Brut Prosecco di Valdobbiadene Superiore DOCG, which debuted back in 1984, was awarded the highest accolade of the Gamberro Rosso in 2019 - the Tre Bicchieri. Not surprisingly, this wine also won the best wine title at the 2019 Lithuanian Wine Championship.
