Description

Franz Haas Pinot Grigio Vigneti Delle Dolomiti 2025 is an elegant Alpine white wine that reflects the precise winemaking of South Tyrol and the Franz Haas family philosophy of preserving the purest expression of the variety and terroir. Franz Haas Pinot Grigio Vigneti delle Dolomiti 2025 is made from ‘Pinot Grigio’ grapes grown on hillsides at an altitude of 350-800 meters above sea level, where large temperature differences between day and night allow for the preservation of aromatic intensity and freshness. The soils are dominated by a combination of clay and dolomitic limestone, which gives the wine structure and minerality.
The aroma reveals notes of white flowers, acacia, sage, lime blossom and hay, complemented by ripe pears, white peaches, citrus peel and light accents of almonds and sandalwood. As it matures in the bottle, subtle nuances of honey and blooming linden emerge.

On the palate, the wine maintains a perfect balance between fruitiness and fresh acidity. It is medium-bodied, with a soft texture, but at the same time lively and precise. In the mouth, there are notes of apple, pear, citrus and light herbs, and the aftertaste is completed by a mineral, elegant and long-lasting freshness.

The character of this wine is strongly shaped by the Dolomite mountain environment. The high-altitude vineyards in South Tyrol provide aromatic subtlety and tension, while the fruits of the lower Trentino plots add more weight and texture. It is this combination of different altitudes and soils that allows for a more complex and gastronomic style of Pinot Grigio than is often found in mass production of this variety.

Fermentation takes place at controlled temperatures, mainly in stainless steel tanks, with a small part in small oak barrels. After fermentation, the wine is aged on the lees for about four months, which gives it more texture, complexity and creaminess, without losing its freshness.

Serving recommendations

Serve at 8 - 10°C with pasta, pizza, risotto with vegetables/mushrooms, grilled vegetables, white meat.

About brand

Franz Haas Winery – a synonym for elegance and heights since 1880.

Franz Haas is a historic Italian winery from the Alto Adige region, founded in 1880. Today, the winery is run by the seventh generation of the family, continuing long-standing traditions and creating wines that are famous not only for their quality but also for their unique style.

The family philosophy is to combine terroir authenticity, innovation and art in order to create wines that reflect the character of the mountains and the uniqueness of Alto Adige.

One of the main distinctive features of the Franz Haas winery is the vineyards planted from 240 to even 1,150 meters above sea level. Such altitudes are rare in Italy, but they allow the cultivation of grapes that produce:

Long-lasting wines with firm acidity

Wines with bright aromatic profiles

Mineral, elegant red and white wines

These conditions allow the creation of wines that retain their freshness even after many years of aging.

Soil diversity – a natural guarantee of complexity

Franz Haas vineyards stretch across different soils: from sand and gravel to fine clay and calcium-rich soil. This diversity allows winemakers to play with texture, structure and aromas, obtaining a subtle character of wines that reflect the microclimate of each area.

Artistic identity – Riccardo Schweizer labels

Each Franz Haas wine has a unique label, created by the famous Italian artist Riccardo Schweizer, who has interacted and worked with legends such as Picasso, Chagall, Le Corbusier and others. It is not just a wine label, but a work of art that stands out on the shelf and conveys the spirit of the wine.
