Red sweet
Hager Matthias Zweigelt Eiswein 2018 is a great choice for those looking for a refined dessert wine with a subtle reductive character and a long aging perspective.
The aroma palette is expressive: dried plums, honey, even slightly caramelized fruit tones. In the mouth, the wine has an excellent balance of sweetness and acidity - this is one of those dessert wines in which sweetness is not a dominant feature, but an integral part of the harmony. Taste structure: rich fruitiness (dried fruits, dark berries), sweet honey/caramel notes, and at the same time - a tighter, clean acid line that allows the wine to "breathe" and avoid too "sticky" sweetness. The aftertaste is long, with a memory of sweet and sour fruit and honey notes.
The grapes were picked frozen (Eiswein technology). Spontaneous fermentation. The wine was aged in stainless steel tanks.
Serve at a temperature of 10 - 12 °C as a dessert or with soft and long-aged cheeses, chocolate, strawberry or raspberry desserts.
