Markowitsch M1 wine is produced only in exceptional vintage years. 2020 was an excellent vintage, with a completely healthy harvest free from any disease. Fermentation was carried out at 30-32°C in wooden vats, with maceration lasting 24-30 days. The wine was aged for 24 months in French oak barrels and 500l oak vessels. The wine charms with its subtlety and freshness. Aromas of plum, blackberry, tobacco, orange peel, raspberry, dark cherry, cinnamon, pepper, and cedar. Friendly tannins give the wine a cohesive structure, with a delicately saline finish that makes the wine quite vibrant.
Residual sugar content - 1.0 g/l. Acidity - 5.5 g/l.
Serve at 16–18 °C with beef or game cooked over embers, or red meat stews with wild mushrooms.
Dark ruby garnet, purple reflections, delicate ochre rim. Fine tobacco nuances, dark forest berries, ripe plums, a hint of cranberries, some cassis and nougat.
