Red dry
A youthful and energetic red wine from the high-altitude Calatayud region of Spain, crafted from Tempranillo grapes. This wine is a pure expression of the variety, reflecting modern Spanish winemaking and the unique landscape of Aragon.
The wine stands out with its bright ruby color and intense aroma of red berries, dominated by ripe cherries, raspberries, and subtle floral notes. On the palate, it is medium-bodied, featuring soft tannins and a clean, fruity finish. It is a technically precise, well-balanced, and exceptionally easy-drinking wine.
Sourced from the Cooperativa San Gregorio vineyards located in the sunny Calatayud region, the wine benefits from significant diurnal temperature shifts (warm days and cool nights). This allows the grapes to develop intense aromas while maintaining excellent freshness. The 2023 vintage is characterized by particular vibrancy, as the wine is produced in the "Joven" (young wine) style, avoiding lengthy oak aging to preserve its primary fruit charm.
Serve at a temperature of 16-18 °C with lamb or roast beef dishes, meat stews, and hard mature cheeses.
The farm of San Greogorio is known for its concentrated taste and excellent value wine from the Calatayud appeal in the northeast of Spain. Old (sometimes even a century-old!) Garnacha and Tempranillo vines growing in infertile soil yield a small but extremely bright-tasting harvest. The 2016 and 2017 San Gregorio wine received much praise from critics for its perfectly balanced taste and exceptional value.
