Red dry
An iconic Chilean wine produced in the Aconcagua Valley. It is the result of a shared vision by Eduardo Chadwick and Robert Mondavi. A Bordeaux-style blend in which New World ripeness is matched by disciplined structure and longevity.
The aroma is deep and multi-layered: blackcurrants, ripe cherries, and plums intertwine with notes of graphite, cedar, tobacco, dried herbs, and subtle cocoa accents.
On the palate, the wine is medium-bodied, with mature yet vibrant acidity and fine, firm tannins. The finish is long and dry, marked by a graphitic mineral tone and a subtle bitter edge.
The vineyards are located in the Aconcagua Valley, on stony, alluvial soils, where the proximity of the Andes Mountains and pronounced day–night temperature shifts allow the grapes to retain acid tension.
At Seña, the wine is made according to biodynamic and organic viticulture principles. Fermentation is carried out with native yeasts, followed by ageing in French oak barrels, using a restrained proportion of new oak to enhance texture and longevity without obscuring the terroir character.
Serve at 16-18 °C with oven-roasted or barbecued beef, lamb, quail and other wild game meats.
What a breathtakingly deep and complex nose! Still just beginning to show what it is made of! Dazzling spectrum of red, blue and black fruits that it would take up way too much space to individualize, but there's certainly an intense black-cherry note. Super-refined tannins that make it glide over palate incredibly gracefully. Super-long finish that's so silky. A cuvee of 57% cabernet sauvignon, 21% carmenere, 12% malbec, 7% petit verdot and 3% cabernet franc. From biodynamically grown grapes. Drink or hold. 20th Anniversary Berlin Tasting Event, February 2024.
