White dry
A wine from the historic “Sign Post” block in the Hunter Valley region, where the Semillon vines were planted as early as 1908. Located between two dry creek beds, the vineyard features light, well-drained sandy soils over coarse river sand.
On the nose, intense notes of lemon and lemon sherbet are complemented by lime and subtle mineral nuances. The aromatics are precise and fresh, with no pronounced influence of oak.
The wine is dry and concentrated, with soft, rounded acidity characteristic of the HVD Semillon style. The lemon flavour is expressive, complemented by notes of grapefruit. The texture is fairly full, while the long, fresh finish maintains a distinct citrus line.
The grapes are hand-harvested and carefully sorted before pressing. They are gently pressed, with only free-run juice fermented in stainless steel tanks at low temperature. After fermentation, the wine is kept on fine lees for approximately six weeks. No oak is used in the production.
Serve at 10–12 °C with fresh seafood, roasted poultry dishes, or aged cheeses.

The family's vineyards stretch from its historic home in the Hunter Valley near Sydney to the Limestone Coast and Heathcote. Run by fourth-generation family member Bruce Tyrrell, the winery produces some of Australia's most awarded wines, including the iconic "Vat 1 Semillon." The Hunter Valley's sandy, alluvial soil is ideal for white grape growing. There are 11 vineyards in the region that are more than 100 years old, 7 of which belong to the Tyrrell family. Tyrrell's is one of the founding members of Australia's First Families of Wine. Since 1971, Tyrrell's has won more than 5,000 trophies and medals, and was named Winery of the Year by James Halliday's Australian Wine Companion in 2010.
