Red dry
An expression of modern Bordeaux elegance, this wine is born just a few kilometers north of Saint-Émilion, where limestone-clay soils and a balanced microclimate allow for the perfect harmony between ripeness and freshness.
On the nose, it reveals ripe plum, blackcurrant, and cherry notes, complemented by hints of tobacco, cedar, cocoa, vanilla, and subtle spice. The bouquet is expressive yet refined, reflecting the mature and harmonious character typical of Bordeaux.
On the palate, the wine is full-bodied, with smooth yet firm tannins and balanced acidity that lend it elegance and vitality. Layers of dark berries, chocolate, dried herbs, and delicate oak spice unfold gradually, leading to a long, gently spiced finish.
The grapes are grown on limestone-clay and sandy slopes, surrounded by ancient oak groves. This terroir imparts depth, structure, and natural balance to the wine. The estate follows sustainable viticulture practices — all grapes are hand-harvested, and fermentation takes place under controlled temperatures to preserve fruit purity.
Aging lasts for about 12 months in French oak barrels, roughly one-third of which are new, achieving a subtle balance between oak integration and fruit expression.
Serving suggestion: Serve at 16–18 °C with grilled beef, venison steak with black pepper sauce, or mature hard cheese such as Manchego.
Château Prieuré Marquet is a modern Bordeaux estate, located just a few kilometers north of Saint-Émilion. Though it has deep historical roots, the estate’s contemporary identity was shaped by the new ownership, which revitalized the château, its vineyards, and the winemaking philosophy. Today, Château Prieuré Marquet stands as a fusion of elegance, technical precision, and respect for Bordeaux tradition.
The vineyards, situated on rolling clay and limestone slopes surrounding the historic château, offer ideal conditions for ‘Merlot’ and ‘Cabernet Sauvignon’. The higher altitude and balanced climate allow the grapes to achieve perfect ripeness while maintaining freshness and natural acidity.
At the core of Château Prieuré Marquet’s philosophy lies the balance between modern technology and natural craftsmanship. The estate practices sustainable viticulture, with hand-harvested grapes and a gravity-flow winery designed to minimize pumping or mechanical handling. This approach preserves the purity of the fruit and the silky texture of the wine.
Each vineyard plot is vinified separately using indigenous yeasts, and the wine is aged in French oak barrels (around 30% new). This method allows the wines to express both fruit clarity and terroir transparency.
Château Prieuré Marquet wines are defined by a harmonious balance of fruit, structure, and elegance.
Red wine – rich in aromas of plum, blackcurrant, cherry, and cocoa, full-bodied on the palate with smooth tannins, bright acidity, and a long, gently spiced finish.
White wine (limited edition) – subtle and mineral, with notes of citrus, white flowers, and ripe fruit, maintaining a pure and refined style.
The overall profile is modern yet timelessly Bordeaux – wines that offer immediate pleasure in youth while possessing the structure and depth to age gracefully for years.
The estate spans about 30 hectares of vineyards, divided into several small parcels surrounding the château.
 Main grape varieties:
‘Merlot’ – the core of structure and softness;
‘Cabernet Sauvignon’ – adds firmness and longevity;
‘Cabernet Franc’ – contributes aromatic finesse.
The limestone-clay soils with sandy inclusions ensure excellent drainage and aromatic clarity, forming the foundation for the estate’s signature balance.
The wines are aged for approximately 12 months in French oak barrels, about one-third of which are new. This aging process results in a refined, delicately oaked profile that enhances depth without overshadowing fruit expression.
Château Prieuré Marquet wines are approachable after just a few years, yet have the potential to age for 10 years or more, gaining depth, velvety texture, and complex secondary aromas over time.
