Red dry
The legendary Château Giscours Margaux 2010, a wine demanding patience yet delivering unrivaled focus and elegance that will truly captivate your senses. This remarkable vintage offers a glimpse into the profound depth achievable in a top-tier Margaux.
The wine's aromatics are very focused, offering distinct notes of black fruit, violets, fig, and mineral scents. While it requires patience, the palate delivers brilliant delineation and poise, with abundant freshness and a supremely well-focused intensity. The finish is long, even surprising with a dab of mint chocolate on the aftertaste.
Crafted from 94 hectares of vines on three deep Garonne gravel ridges, this "real jewel" of a terroir plays a decisive role in ripening the grapes. The blend consists of 71% Cabernet Sauvignon and 29% Merlot. Wine aged for 15 to 18 months in French oak barrels (50% new, 50% once-used).
Decant one hour before serving at 16-18 °C. Perfect with grilled beef, lamb or rich wild poultry.
Château Giscours has constantly reinvented itself to survive the centuries. Pierre de Lhomme, Marc Promis, Jean-Pierre Pescatore, Edouard Cruse, Nicolas Tari and now the Albada Jelgersma family – all ambitious and visionary estate owners who were passionate about pulling together the estate’s land and giving this vineyard, named a Third Grand Cru Classé in 1855, a reputation for excellence.
