Domenico Clerico Trevigne Barbera d'Alba DOC 2021 is a lively, intensely fruity and perfectly balanced red wine from the heart of Piedmont. Produced by one of the region's most renowned producers, Domenico Clerico, this Barbera d'Alba perfectly conveys the versatility and elegance of this grape variety.
The wine is full of aromas of ripe cherries, plums and blackberries, which are subtly complemented by sweet spices, vanilla and soft oak notes. The taste is a perfect balance between rich fruitiness, fresh acidity and soft tannins. Long, elegant, mineral aftertaste.
The grapes are hand-picked from several different vineyards (Trevigne means "three vineyards"). The wine is fermented at controlled temperatures in stainless steel tanks. The wine is aged for about 12 months in French oak barrels to maintain the fruitiness of the Barbera but add structure and complexity.
Serve at 16 - 18°C with traditional Italian dishes (e.g. pasta with Bolognese sauce), pork or poultry dishes with tomatoes. Also, semi-hard and mature cheeses will go well with the wine.
