Sparkling dry
Andreola Col Del Forno Rive di Refrontolo Brut Prosecco di Valdobbiadene Superiore DOCG is an elegant and mineral Rive Prosecco from the historic Refrontolo slopes terroir in the Conegliano Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore DOCG region. This wine is born in one of the 43 official Rive microterroirs, where the extremely steep slopes, calcareous and clayey soils and manual work in the vineyards allow for a more expressive style of Prosecco that conveys the character of the terroir.
The Col del Forno vineyard is a natural amphitheater located at an altitude of about 250 meters above sea level. This eastern part of Valdobbiadene has a slightly warmer microclimate than the central slopes of the DOCG, which gives the wines a more ripe fruitiness and a broader texture.
The wine is made from 100% ‘Glera’ grapes using the Martinotti-Charmat method. After secondary fermentation, the wine is aged on the lees for several months to achieve a creamier texture and greater complexity. The residual sugar content is around 7 g/l, which keeps the style dry but at the same time very harmonious.
The aroma reveals notes of acacia, hawthorn and wisteria blossoms, complemented by aromas of green apples, pears, peaches and yellow citrus. Alongside the fruitiness, there is a subtle minerality and a light herbal nuance, typical of high-class Valdobbiadene terroir wines.
The wine is extremely precise, fresh and elegant. Fine, creamy bubbles provide texture, and the balance between fruitiness, acidity and minerality keeps the wine very gastronomic. The aftertaste is long, clean and subtly salty.
Serve at 8–10 °C as an aperitif or with light appetizers. Suitable with fish dishes.
Intense aromas of white roses, green apples, sage and lemons. Zesty on the palate with a light body and a long, tight finish. Drink now. May 15, 2025
Andreola winery, located just outside Valdobbiadene on the Col San Martino, produces Prosecco with a very distinctive flavor. Here the landscape is completely different with high hills with steep slopes and terraced vineyards. Stefano Pola, who runs the winery, draws on the long tradition of winemaking in the region, but does not shy away from modern solutions to improve quality. The family farm has 70 hectares of vineyards, dominated by Glera grapes, but not forgetting the old local varieties such as Verdiso, Bianchetta and Perera. In recent years, Andreola has received much praise from wine critics. Their first wine, Vigneto Dirupo Brut Prosecco di Valdobbiadene Superiore DOCG, which debuted back in 1984, was awarded the highest accolade of the Gamberro Rosso in 2019 - the Tre Bicchieri. Not surprisingly, this wine also won the best wine title at the 2019 Lithuanian Wine Championship.
