Red dry
Chiara Boschis – E. Pira & Figli Barolo Mosconi DOCG 2021 is one of the most expressive modern Barolos from Monforte d’Alba, coming from the prestigious Mosconi cru vineyard, where 100% Nebbiolo grapes are grown. This wine is characterized by dark fruit intensity, elegant structure and excellent maturity potential – a classic interpretation of Barolo, which perfectly combines power and sophistication. The wine is concentrated, structured, yet subtle.
Aromatic profile of the wine: a combination of dark berries (blackcurrant, blueberry), dried cherries, rose petals and lavender, complemented by spices, cigar, menthol and earthy notes. In the mouth - full body, rich fruit concentration and energetic acidity, which provides balance and freshness. Tannins are fine, elegant and well integrated – providing structure and a long aftertaste.
Harvested by hand. Fermentation was carried out at a controlled temperature, and the wine was then aged for about 24 months in French oak barrels.
Serve at 18-20 °C with game stew, pasta with truffles or mature cheeses.
"Pira" is an old winemaking family, mentioned in parish registers since the 17th century. Gigi Pira, a legendary representative of the old school of production, created his wines by harvesting grapes from his plots in the Cannubi, San Lorenzo, and Via Nuova vineyards. However, Pira's attachment to tradition did not end there: he was indeed the last surviving winemaker of the old style. Since 1980, continuity has been ensured by Chiara Boschis and her parents Franco and Ida, who already share a deep friendship and mutual respect with Pira and represent the historic "Barolo" producer family. Chiara is one of the first female winemakers in Barolo. Her style differs from the traditional one. The wines are bright, fruity, rich in aromas, and have friendlier tannins. The grapes are grown according to an ecological philosophy, and all processes are carried out by hand.
