Domaine Rolet Tradition Chardonnay Savagnin Cotes du Jura AOC 2002 1,5L

Description

A refined and fully mature wine from the Jura region, made from Chardonnay and Savagnin in the traditional Tradition style. Partial aging under a veil of yeast adds structure, nutty depth, and gentle oxidative complexity while maintaining balance and clarity.

The nose offers notes of dried stone fruit, toasted nuts, buttery caramel, and soft spice. On the palate, the wine is dry and well-structured, with a strong mineral core, lively acidity, and a long, polished finish. The magnum format enhances precision and long-term harmony.

About brand

Domaine Rolet was founded in 1942 by Désiré Rolet before being passed on to his children. Today, the Domaine's vines average 45 years old and span 65ha across the Jura region of Eastern France, with vineyards in the AOCs of Arbois, Cotes du Jura, l'Etoile, and Chateau-Chalon.Classic Jura varieties are planted across steep slopes on appropriate soils; Chardonnay (light marls), Savagnin (grey marls), Poulsard (red & blue marls), Trousseau (heavy gravels) and Pinot Noir (light marls). Vines are tended through organic farming practices, and hand-harvested each year producing yields between 15-50 hl. Further sorting ensures that only the best quality grapes are seen through to barrel. Most wines are aged for around 18 months in oak, replacing a quarter of their barrels each year. The resulting wines have gained the Domaine a reputation for excellence with wine professionals and drinkers alike with their purity and concentration.
