Sparkling dry
One of the finest examples of contemporary Catalan sparkling wine, reflecting Gramona’s philosophy of extended ageing, biodynamic viticulture and a precise balance between freshness and creaminess.
The wine is made from classic Penedès grape varieties: ‘Xarel·lo’, ‘Macabeo’, ‘Parellada’ and ‘Chardonnay’. Most of the grapes are grown in organically and biodynamically farmed vineyards around the town of Sant Sadurní d’Anoia.
The nose reveals notes of ripe white fruit and citrus zest, white flowers, and subtle nuances of buttery pastry, brioche and toasted almonds, developed during extended ageing on the lees. The texture is silky and creamy, while refreshing acidity lends the wine vitality and precision. The finish is long and mineral.
Extended ageing is one of this wine’s defining characteristics. “Gramona Imperial Brut 2019” was aged on the lees for more than 50 months, giving it complexity and an expressive texture. The dosage is very restrained, at around 4 g/l of sugar, allowing the wine to retain its dry, fresh character.
Corpinnat is a designation for sparkling wines associated with the Penedès region of Catalonia, Spain. History and tradition: from 1881 to today
In 1945, Bartomeu and Josep Lluís Gramona began a new era in winemaking - they were the first to establish the concept of long-aged sparkling wines in Spain.
In 1951, the first Gramona III Lustros was created, released in 1961.
In 2021 The Gramona family celebrated 100 years as a sparkling wine producer and 140 years as a grape grower.
Today, the Gramona story is continued by the fifth and sixth generations – Jaume, Roc and Leonard Gramona – following the principles of sustainability and quality.
Traditional method and exceptional quality
Gramona wines are produced using the traditional method (Méthode Traditionnelle), identical to champagne production, and their maturation period ranges from 18 months to even 12 years – more than double the standard Cava requirements.
What makes Gramona sparkling wines stand out?
In addition to the traditional Cava grapes (Xarel·lo, Macabeo, Parellada), they also use Chardonnay, which gives it an elegant and international style.

A new generation of quality: Corpinnat
After a long-standing commitment to improving Cava’s reputation, in 2019 Gramona left the official DO Cava designation of origin and became one of the founding members of the Corpinnat association. Corpinnat means “born in the heart” and represents the highest quality sparkling wines produced exclusively in the Penedès region, following strict organic production and long-term maturation requirements.
