Kir-Yianni Xinomavro Sparkling Brut

Description

Kir-Yianni Xinomavro Sparkling Brut is a dry white sparkling wine from Northern Greece that reveals the fresh and elegant character of the indigenous ‘Xinomavro’ variety.

Pale lemon in color, the wine features lively, long-lasting bubbles. Its aroma weaves together notes of citrus fruits, red berries, white stone fruits, and orange blossoms. On the palate, it is fresh and crisp with a soft, creamy texture, offering subtle hints of nuts and melon, followed by a refreshing finish.

The grapes are hand-harvested in the vicinity of Agios Panteleimonas, in the Florina region, at an altitude of over 600 meters. Sandy soil and significant temperature differences between day and night help preserve the freshness of the grapes. The wine is produced using the Charmat method; the second fermentation takes place in pressurized tanks, where the wine rests on its lees for five months. It is then aged in the bottle for an additional five months before its release.

Serving recommendations

Serve at 10–12 °C. Pairing: suitable as an aperitif, or with cheese snacks, fried appetizers, and light creamy desserts.

About brand

The history of Kir-Yianni Winery dates back to 1997, when one of the most influential personalities in the Greek wine world, Yiannis Boutaris, separated from his famous grandfather, the Boutari Wine Group, founded in 1879. Currently, his charismatic son, Stellios Boutaris, who is a fifth-generation winemaker, runs the Kir-Yianni winery, whose vineyards are located on the slopes of Mount Vermio, 300-700 meters above sea level. The two main vineyards on the farm, dominated by the local Xinomavro grape, are in the appeals of the Greek region of Amyndeon and Naoussa.
