Red dry
Frontonio “Supersónico” Valdejalón IGP 2023 is an elegant, fresh and delicate red wine from Aragon. It is made mainly from Garnacha grapes, supplemented with a small portion of Macabeo. The vines, which are over 80 years old, grow in the Las Frías area, at an altitude of 1,030 meters, on poor, rocky soils with a northern exposure. Such conditions help to preserve the acidity, aromatics and elegance of the grapes.
The wine is light ruby in color. The aroma reveals red currants, violets, bay leaves, wild herbs and subtle mineral tones. The wine is light, lively and very refreshing, with red berries, citrus spice, elegant tannins and a long, floral aftertaste.
The grapes are fermented in bunches using natural yeasts. The wine is then aged for about 12 months in large 2,500-liter new and used oak barrels.
The name “Supersónico” – “supersonic” – reflects the energetic, lively and refreshing character of the wine.

This shows restrained aromas of burnt pumpkin seeds and dried flowers. It’s very elegant and composed. The palate is floral, with blood orange flavors. Very vibrant, medium-bodied and energetic yet subtle, with ethereal fruit. Very approachable. Drink now.
"Bodegas Frontonio" is a project by Master of Wine (MW) Fernando Morra, born from the desire to reveal the uniqueness of Aragon region wines. "Bodegas Frontonio" is located in the Aragon region, which encompasses appellations such as Valdejalon, Campo de Borja, Calatayud, and Somontano. Many people have barely heard of them, but it is believed that the 'Garnacha' variety (known as 'Grenache' in France) originated from these areas. Therefore, it is not surprising that in these appellations we can find many old 'Garnacha' vines. Fernando Morra initiated the creation of the "Mondo Garnacha" winemakers' group, whose goal is to preserve and nurture old vines, expressing the best qualities of 'Garnacha' wines. In the Valdejalon IGP appellation, the oldest surviving vines were planted in the 1890s! Luis Gutierrez (Robert Parker's Wine Advocate reviewer), reviewing 'Garnacha' wines from Aragon, Navarra, and several other areas around the "Frontonio" winery, wrote simply and unequivocally: "This time, Frontonio wines are the ones that show the most significant progress compared to previous vintages. Each year the wine gets better."

Aging and Consumption Period
