The first craft cidery in Lithuania, founded by the country’s first official Pommelier, Donatas Genys. After travels to England and Normandy, many years of experimentation, and the planting of more than 6,000 cider apple trees, he initiated a completely new era of cider revival in Lithuania.
Sodo Sidrinė, located just a few kilometres from the city of Kaunas, in the Klumpės orchards.
Sodo Sidrinė represents more than cider alone – it is a thoughtful approach to local agriculture, tradition, and taste culture. The ciders are produced from cider-specific apple varieties grown in the estate’s own orchards, following natural fermentation methods and minimal intervention principles.
Particular attention is given to apple origin, harvest maturity, and slow production processes, allowing the true fruit character to emerge. Sodo Sidrinė ciders are defined by purity, balance, subtle acidity, and clear structure – drinks made for appreciation rather than haste.
Today, the cidery stands as one of the key contributors to the revival of cider culture in Lithuania, demonstrating that cider can be serious, terroir-driven, and gastronomically relevant.
